In Only Up!, the game begins in a junkyard where the player-controlled protagonist Jackie—inspired by the folktale "Jack and the magic bean tree"—must run, climb, leap, and overcome a variety of objects and platforms in order to escape poverty.The players must make room for Jackie to discover his potential existence. There are beds that can be utilized as trampolines to traverse significant portions of the course's obstacles.Players can slow down time to influence the movements of their characters.There are no checkpoints throughout the entirety of the game, so the user cannot save their progress.
